Budweiser Clydesdale Horses Make an Appearance in Minnesota!

We were so fortunate to have been a part of the famous Budweiser Clydesdale hitching and parades that happened this past week in Minnesota.

 

The Clydesdales are known for being majestic horses, but their background is the historical value of their existence. Upon the repeal of prohibition, Augustus Busch was gifted a team of these horses as workload and atypical carriage horses to hand deliver beer to their accounts. It was an amazing sight to see, that is no longer used today, unless in parade form.


The Budweiser Girls were granted the opportunity to be part of this parade and walked along side the Clydesdales as they showed off their true strength and beauty. They visited the towns of Shakopee, Hopkins, and Minneapolis, and also helped host a private viewing party at Canterbury Park, a popular horse race track in the South Metro. They closed out the week with a show around Twins Stadium to initiate the kick off of a Minnesota Twins game.

It doesn’t happen often that we are graced with an appearance from the Budweiser Clydesdales, so we took full advantage of the time we were given and enjoyed every moment! To learn more about Budweiser and the Clydesdales, CLICK HERE.

Canadian Grand Prix – Fun at Formula 1

Over the weekend, the Backwoods Promotions team was on hand to work alongside two major clients during the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, Quebec. Our team has consistently staffed this major motorsports event for repeat clients since 2014, and continues to excel at this event with lead generation, crowd gathering, and product sales and distribution. 

Last year, the Canadian Grand Prix was the most attended Formula 1 race out of all races in the Formula 1 World Championship, with more than 360,000 fans attending Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Grand Prix weekend. From the race itself, to restaurants, shopping and clubs, the city comes alive with excitement and attracts visitors from all over the globe for three days of competition, class and world-renowned parties and festivals.

Notre Dame Island has been home to this iconic circuit since 1978, and features a 2.71 mile track surrounded by the St. Lawrence River. The track was renamed to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in 1982 after Gilles Villeneuve’s passing that same year. He achieved history after winning the inaugural race and his first Formula 1 victory, at the circuit in 1978.

To honor his legacy, Jacques Villeneuve (Gilles son) drove his fathers No. 12 Ferrari from 1978 around the track during the parade lap of the race this past weekend. He waved at the crowd as fans reciprocated their love and respect for Gilles Villeneuve.

On Sunday, Sebastian Vettel, led the Canadian Grand Prix from start to finish, beginning in pole position and holding the lead for 70 laps in his Ferrari to achieve his 50th career victory. 

The Canadian Grand Prix is considered one of the most exciting, action packed race events of all, and the event weekend always produces a fantastic spectacle regarded as a favorite by many drivers, sponsors and fans!

Born to Move!

As we kick off the summer, Backwoods Promotions staff recently teamed up with Dr. Scholl’s® during two different events. Dr. Scholl’s® is a national sponsor of the American Heart Association (AHA) and is involved in various 5K races, marathons and other outdoor events around the country. The first event took place at the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon in Ohio. The race draws more than 20,000 runners annually and just completed its 41st consecutive year. This event featured a 5K race,  a 60-minute professional yoga session in the Broncos stadium end zone, CycleNation spin bike demos, and more, with all proceeds and donations benefiting the American Heart Association.
